APPLICATION FOR A COMPETENT DRIVING LICENSE (CDL)

Document required for applying a CDL (JPJL6)

Original Probationary Driving License (PRB)

1 color photograph (25mm x 32mm)

Payment of RM 20.00 (for class B) and RM 30.00 (for class D) per year with an option of 1,2,3,5 and 10 years period.

Condition: Application for a CDL should be forwarded after successful completion of 2 years probationary period (P-Plate License) and within one year from date of completion of probationary period. Failure to do so will result in applicant being subjected to re-sit test.

Note:

Renewal and issuance of Competent Driving License (CDL) for one (1) year period only is approved for applications before seven (7) days of expiration day of Probationary Driving License (PRB). The renewal transaction for one (1) year period is done automatically by RTD Computer System, once the application is verified.

RENEWING A COMPETENT DRIVING LICENSE

Required documents:

The original CDL

1 color photograph (25mm x 32mm)

Payment of RM20.00 (for class B) and RM30.00 (for class D) per year with an option of 1,2,3,5 and 10 years period.

Place : At any RTD office or any Post Office providing the service. Caution: Renewal made after 3 years of expiry date requires the owner to re-sit for Part I, II and III in line with section 29(1)(b) Road Transport Act 1987.

A photocopy of National Identity Card
Payment of RM20.00

For a damaged CDL
